It's been a long goal for me to write and illustrate books for young children. Since having a 6 year old daughter, one who is brimming with crazy ideas and explorations, I enjoy using her wit as my sounding board. Together, our ramblings would become this book. We had fun in figuring out what would visually feel absolutely ridiculous, like a seal that sang a song, or a crab who baked cookies and used oven mitts. Art wise this book tested me in ways I did not foresee, for I treated each animal as a character. So essentially I was drawing characters in funny situations. I used procreate for all the art work and had so much fun experimenting with the brushes and textures.
That's Ridiculous is the second book I've worked on and I'm just getting started.
